2013 P25 Certificate of Appreciation

The P25 Steering Committee today presented a Plaque and Certificate of Appreciation to ITS engineer Randy Bloomfield for his long-standing commitment and numerous contributions over the years to the Project 25 Standards Process on behalf of the public safety user community.

In presenting the plaque, Steering Committee Chair James Downes (Office of Emergency Communications, US Department of Homeland Security) expressed his deep appreciation for Randy's service in support of the Project 25 Steering Committee and the User Needs Subcommittee. "Your expertise in the public safety communications environment and attention to detail provided a sound foundation for your contributions and assistance to the User Needs Subcommittee Chair," said Downes. "Your professionalism and knowledge was exemplified on numerous occasions, particularly during the revision process of the Project 25 Statement of Requirements. Through your efforts, the Project 25 User Needs Subcommittee and ultimately the P25 Steering Committee were able to meet the ultimate goal to provide the best possible product to the public safety user community."

A joint effort of the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials-International (APCO-International) and the National Association of State Telecommunications Directors, APCO Project 25 (P25) was established to bring together the public-safety community at the local, state and federal levels and the telecommunications industry, with input from the FCC, to create a suite of standards for digital public safety land mobile radio (LMR) equipment embracing elements of interoperability, spectrum efficiency and cost economies.
