Proposed Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Voice Techniques for the Amateur Radio Service

Abstract: General Docket 81-414, Notice of Inquiry and Proposed Rulemaking, proposes allowing the Amateur Radio Service to use spread spectrum techniques in three bands. This report reviews the Docket's proposals and the public's reaction, reviews direct sequence spread spectrum techniques, and proposes (for purposes of further discussion) a direct sequence spread system suitable for voice communications.
