Minuteman Radio Launch Control System Studies and Site Survey
Robert T. Disney; Arthur D. Spaulding; William Q. Crichlow; R. C. Davis
Abstract: To evaluate the performance of the Minuteman Radio Launch Control System, a number of factors were investigated. This report gives the results of the field measurement programs conducted by ITSA. In addition to the radio noise evaluation, measurements were made to determine transmission loss between various locations within the site s and the effects of skywave interference. The programs at one site were concerned with the underground antenna radiation pattern and efficiency, error rates, and system reliability when operating in the noise environment, and a study of limiting action in the RLCS receiver.
