Abstract: Provides an in-depth analysis of the behavior of the P6 video performance parameter, a parameter that measures the motion energy that is lost when a video scene is transmitted through a digital video compression system. Objective to subjective correlation results are given for the T1A1 subjective video experiment that contained 625 mean opinion scores (25 test scenes passed through 25 different video transmission systems that ranged in bit rate from 64 kb/sec to 45 Mb/sec). This contribution provides experimental evidence that video teleconferencing users do not significantly downgrade quality ratings for frame rates of at least 10 to 15 frames per second.
