Abstract: It is well known that the amplitude-probability distribution (APD) function of atmospheric radio noise can be closely represented by a curve that one can select from a family of curves by specifying the ratio of rms to average voltage, usually expressed in decibels and denoted by Vd. This report presents a method for numerically representing the APD function of atmospheric radio noise for a specified Vd value. It also presents two computer subprograms that implement the method.

Keywords: atmospheric radio noise; amplitude probability distribution
