A User’s Guide to Path Loss Computations

Abstract:

Program LOSS was designed to compute estimated statistics of the path loss between two radio antennas operating at frequencies between 20 MHz and 20 GHz. It was written specifically for the CDC 3000 and 6000 series of computers.

1. This "User’s Guide" provides:
2. 1) Definitions and descriptions of input parameters and output values.
3. 2) A description of the input format and the minimal data required.
4. 3) A description of various output choices and how to instruct the program to produce them.
5. 4) An explanation of all input parameters one might want to specify for an "area prediction."
6. 5) An explanation of the additional parameters useful in a "point-to-point" situation.

There are also five appendices in which are given a summary of the input parameters, examples of input data and the resulting output, and description of some of the theory behind the program and how the program operates.
