Abstract: Simulcast is a system of broadcasting in which several carriers, each containing the same information and having equal frequencies, are used. In such a system, transmitter frequency drift, random phase between transmitters, and other factors will cause deep fading or complete cancellation of the received signal. A simulcast system with three carriers, with slight frequency off-sets, was simulated by digital computer, and the combined received signal was statistically analyzed. Emphasis is placed on the statistics within an information bit time for the proposed simulcast system. Computer plots of the individual carriers, combined carriers, cumulative amplitude distribution, and probability density functions are included.
