Abstract: The National Crime Information Center consists of a real time data acquisition and storage system plus an extensive telecommunications network to permit law enforcement agencies throughout the United States to enter data and to interrogate the system. This report is a description of the telecommunications network recommended after a detailed technical systems study. Emphasis is placed on the initial system as it will operate in 1967. Data On wanted persons, stolen automobiles, and stolen items of identifiable personal property will be stored in the central computer. In addition to the present system, plans for its future growth are discussed.
