Measured versus theoretical performance of receivers of the minuteman launch control type

Arthur D. Spaulding

Abstract: Comparisons are made between all the past measurements of Minuteman launch control type receivers, and these measurements are compared with the theoretical performance for receivers of this type acting in atmospheric noise. Comparisons are made for both linear receivers and receivers employing wideband limiting. The wide band limiting performance is compared with the theoretically optimum performance, and discrepancies are discussed.· Recent measurements of a receiver based on the optimum design are also given.
