Abstract: A computer procedure called program AREAPOP is used to count the number of persons and housing units within Grade A and Grade B service contours of 294 Public Broadcasting Service television stations in the United States. These population statistics are derived from the 1970 Census Bureau's Haster Enumeration District List of the United States (listed on magnetic tapes).
