Abstract: This report provides information about research projects conducted at the National Bureau of Standards Department of Commerce Boulder Laboratories in FY 1961 by the Cryogenic Engineering Laboratory (CEL) and the Central Radio Propagation Laboratory (CRPL). CEL conduct s research on the physical properties of materials, properties of fluids, cryogenic processes, and cryogenic equipment. In addition, it maintains a national Cryogenic Data Center and provides advisory services to both industry and Other Government agencies. CRPL consists of five divisions that conduct research on the propagation of radio waves as affected by the ionosphere; radio propagation engineering; applied engineering of radio systems for efficient utilization of the radio frequency spectrum; the propagation of radio waves in the upper atmosphere and space; and the complete, consistent, uniform, and accurate measurement of physical quantities and material properties pertaining to radio science to assure adequate international coordination of such measurements. A list of publications issued and patents received from the founding of the Boulder Laboratories in 1954 to date is provided.
