Specifies the size of the object of interest with respect to the field of view.

The size of the region of interest (target) with respect to the size of the field of view directly affects the ability to recognize that target when the camera is at its maximum optical zoom. The larger the target, the more details can be discerned.
The perceived target size is dependent on the actual target size, its distance from the camera, and the camera’s field of view. As a basic concept, targets can be classified as large or small, as the figure shows. However, the VQiPS working group is developing measurements to more precisely define target size.
